What you’ll be responsible for:
- A key element of this role as an Apprentice ICA Technician, you will be providing Instrumentation, Control and Automation support and expertise for the treatment works and associated assets and ensuring compliance.
- As part of your development, there will be a mixture of practical and theory-based learning. You will receive role specific technical training in line with your academic studies.
Your college / training provider will be Bridgend College (Travel will be likely if role is based elsewhere. If it is the case that we deem the college not a realistic daily commute, accommodation will be provided).
What you’ll be learning:
- To carry out planned maintenance of ICA plants, and make decisions on both tasks and frequencies in order to strike a balance between regular checks and number of breakdowns.
- To respond to breakdowns on a very wide variety of ICA plant, assess problems, decide on action, acquire spares and carry out repairs as necessary.
- Recommend design changes if necessary, to ensure that plant continues to function efficiently and effectively in order to maintain levels of service.
About you:
A minimum of Grade B in GCSE Maths and Grade C in English and Science (or equivalent) is required and also working towards a driving licence if you haven’t already got one.
