What you’ll be responsible for:
- Working in a safe manner at all times
- Driving and operating Bio-solids tankers and ancillary equipment to facilitate removal of Bio-solids from wastewater treatment works and delivery to reception centres
- Working closely with the Bio-solids Schedulers and Supervisors to ensure that all collections are undertaken when required and any exceptions are reported in a timely manner
- Carrying out routine daily checks on tankers in order to comply with Road Traffic Act requirements and to ensure continuity with Welsh Waters Operators Licence
- Carrying out daily and weekly checks to ensure legal road worthiness at all times
- Accurately record driving hours
- Accurately report and record defects. Record nil defects and action defects immediately
- Recording quantities, types and destinations of Bio-solids transported to comply with relevant legislation and IMS procedure
About you:
- Possess a HGV Class 1 driving licence - valid CPC
- Understand the importance of being a member of a high performing team
- Able to take responsibility for own actions whilst working ‘in the field’ following procedures and guidelines
- Knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to use PDA and other hand held devices
- Ability to travel as job requires and have a geographical appreciation of the operating area
- Able to work to deadlines without compromising quality
- Adaptable to changing priorities
- The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business
Good to know:
- A HGV Class 1 driving licence is required for the role, Vac Tanker experience is preferred but training will be provided.
- 12-hour, 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
- Set working hours of 6am-6pm daily (some flexibility to be discussed at interview).
