Salary Range £58,751.00 - £71,972.00 (Band 9) per annum (Depending on Experience) £5,000 annual car allowance.

This role offers a flexible base location, with regular travel required across South Wales to cover all geographical areas.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Coordinate the delivery of projects spanning a full range of value and complexity (inclusive of >£10M projects), involving multidisciplinary teams and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic direction, commercial oversight, and full accountability for outcomes across the project lifecycle.
  • Be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of projects, ensuring completion in line with all statutory, regulatory, and financial outputs of the business plan, including demonstrable value for money and aligning with asset strategy goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a best‑in‑class approach to Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental Stewardship across all projects, ensuring full compliance with the latest CDM Regulations and managing a proactive, safe working culture for colleagues, partners and the public.
  • Provide oversight across programmes of work, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and delivery across multidisciplinary teams, and aligning projects with wider business and asset strategies.
  • Fulfil the role of NEC Project Manager on complex projects, managing commercial strategy whilst ensuring high-quality contract administration, and driving timely execution of all contractual obligations ensuring collaboration, trust, risk management and programme acceptance.
  • Work closely with Commercial teams to ensure accurate forecasting, disciplined budget management, and optimisation of value for money across projects, with full accountability for financial performance.
  • Manage the supply chain in a fair and collaborative manner, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, partners, and senior internal teams to resolve complex issues that may impact delivery.
  • Meet all standby obligations for the role, ensuring appropriate out‑of‑hours availability and management during emergency situations to safeguard service continuity.

Good to know:

The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota. Car allowance of £5,000 per annum is also offered.

About You:

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent in experience. Professional Project Management chartership (APM or equivalent). NEBOSH Construction Qualification.
  • Experience: Ideally 5 years+ experience in implementation of contractor management, in line with all Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations, with demonstrated oversight across complex delivery environments. Ideally 5 years+ knowledge, experience and implementation of NEC and other contract administration, including managing commercial application and managing complex contractual matters. Extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering, operations and asset management functions across complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Extensive knowledge of the UK water industry, including regulatory drivers, asset standards, and capital delivery processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge strategically across projects and programmes. Strong contractor management, safety oversight, commercial oversight and performance management skills, with experience across complex and high-risk environments. Broad project and people management capabilities, including managing planning, controlling, and delivering capital projects across multidisciplinary teams against tight regulatory timelines. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills across technical, operational and commercial teams.
