About the Role
Reporting to: Visitor Experience Manager
As Campsite Warden, you will take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of our campsite, ensuring guests enjoy a safe, welcoming, and memorable stay. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, maintaining high standards across all areas — from guest services and site upkeep to supporting the wider visitor experience team.
You will be the go-to person for campers, providing friendly assistance, clear information, and prompt solutions to any issues. Alongside managing check-ins and bookings, you will oversee facilities, monitor health and safety, and help create a positive atmosphere that reflects our commitment to excellent customer care.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Welcoming all visitors to our campsite and ensuring that everyone has all the information to enable them to have a high standard of visitor experience.
- Maintaining the safety and security of the site and visitors overnight.
- Supporting our visitors with the check-in and departing process, ensuring that each guest has a smooth and timely arrival and an excellent visitor experience.
- Ensuring that visitors receive a warm welcome and their welcome pack and visitor information, making sure they have all the information they need to make the best of their stay.
- Completing consistent night site safety inspection checks to update logs and ensure a high level of safety to protect the site and its visitors.
- Completing cleaning of the shower and toilet facilities to a high standard as required.
- Conducting regular site patrols and perimeter checks to ensure site security, ensuring that visitors are aware and adhere to the campsite and wider site rules and that facilities are maintained in good order.
- Taking responsibility for the emergency phone out of hours on a rota basis.
- Providing a high standard of customer service in the retail/campsite shop to maximise sales revenue and ensure guests can purchase provisions.
- Responding to first-aid incidents where guests require help or assistance.
- Attending DCWW training sessions required for the role.
- Overseeing the general upkeep and cleanliness of the campsite and liaising with other internal teams regarding land and waste management and cleaning, being prepared in busy times to assist with these tasks.
- Undertaking any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business and its visitors.
Essential Experience
- Experience in dealing with members of the public, working in front of house on reception or in a similar customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge or experience of Health and Safety legislation.
- First aid at work (training can be supplied). Must be willing to deliver first aid if required.
- Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day.
- Ability to communicate with confidence with visitors, guests, and members of the public.
- Administration skills – to be organised with documentation and to understand data protection. To manage bookings over the telephone and face-to-face following the correct procedures.
Good to Know
- Fixed Term Contract. Dates – Monday 9th March – Sunday 27th September 2026 (training to start sooner).
- This is a Band 2 FTC at a salary of £25,000 per annum (pro-rata).
- Paid monthly for the duration of the contract.
- Hardstanding pitch with EHU available for successful applicant.
- Overtime paid when dealing with emergencies outside of hours.
- Due to the nature of the industry, we require satisfactory references, post-offer medical clearance, and a criminal records enhanced disclosure check on all new employees joining the business.
- For some roles there may be additional checks and security clearance required, and this offer is subject to all checks being satisfied.
