Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water keep 3 million people healthy each day with safe, reliable water, and take away wastewater to clean, before returning it safely to our beautiful rivers and seas.
Responsibilities
- Operate Water Treatment Works and associated water pumping stations to company BMS and Health & Safety requirements, controlling chemical and other stock levels, managing purchasing via SAP and monitoring expenditure to meet budgetary targets.
- Induct, supervise and manage outside contractors carrying out revenue and reactive capital maintenance breakdowns and projects ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and BMS requirements and ensuring quality control.
- liaise with ME&I crafts team on revenue and reactive capital maintenance work.
- liaise and plan work with network supervisors and operatives to ensure uninterrupted supply when plant shut down for maintenance and other associated work required on site.
- participate in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for area of operation.
- undertake any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

- Internal: Area Production Team, Production Engineers, Process Control and Craftsmen, Local Distribution Team
- External: National Resources Wales/Environment Agency, Suppliers and contractors
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water.
- Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all H&S issues.
- Computer systems literate.
- Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/NRW.
- Dealing with control of abstraction under licence at raw water intakes.
- Dealing with discharge consent licence for all environmental discharges.
