Overview
Operate Water Treatment Works and associated water pumping stations to company BMS and Health & Safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Control chemical and other stock levels and consumables by control and management of purchasing via SAP.
- Monitor and control expenditure to meet budget targets.
- Induct, supervise and manage outside contractors carrying out revenue and reactive capital maintenance, breakdowns and projects, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and BMS requirements and quality control.
- Liaise with ME&I craftsmen on revenue and reactive capital maintenance work.
- Liaise and plan work with network supervisors and operatives to ensure uninterrupted supply when plant shutdowns are required for maintenance and other work on site.
- Participate in arrangements and cover for annual leave and sickness for the area of operation.
- Undertake any other duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or higher, BTEC, ONC/HNC qualifications in Water.
- Experience gained in the industry with use of SCADA systems, instrumentation and mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience gained in the industry to ensure full compliance and adherence to all Health & Safety issues.
- Computer systems literate including SAP, Scope X, Exchange, Word and Excel.
- Awareness of regulatory bodies such as DWI and Environment Agency/ NRW.
- Dealing with control of abstraction under licence at raw water intakes.
- Dealing with discharge consent licences for all environmental discharges.
- Enthusiastic about putting customers first every day.
