Distribution Inspector - Network

As a Distribution Inspector, you will be responsible for:

1. Demonstrating a keen willingness to constantly work as part of a team.

2. Achieving and maintaining the area leakage targets.

3. Reacting and working alongside all other departments during Silver & Gold incidents.

4. Ensuring that all GIS updates are submitted to GIS bureau to allow Welsh Water to maintain high quality information.

5. Ensuring Welsh Water leakage targets are met using various techniques to reduce leakage.

6. Ensuring the proper application and compliance with all company health and safety procedures, with the safety of colleagues and customers always in mind.

7. Effective liaison with colleagues in the distribution team during normal work practice and in times of emergency, arriving at network/leakage solutions.

8. Making sure the correct details are entered onto the various IT systems on a daily basis.

9. Ensuring correct working practices are adhered to on site in and out of hours.

10. Conducting visual inspections.

11. Representing Welsh Water throughout the lifecycle of projects, assisting as necessary the partner through the project development, planning, approvals and statutory processes.

12. Dealing with sometimes difficult situations in a friendly and professional manner, whilst striving for a speedy resolution.

13. Making recommendations for the improvement of the network.

14. Efficiently organising your own time, handling routine work with a minimum of supervision, assessing priorities within your area of work and managing those priorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Current, full valid driving licence

• Experience of the water industry

• Good level of customer service experience

• A good level of Network/Leakage experience

• Good Interpersonal Skills

• Good knowledge of the water industry

• Effective communication Skills

• The drive and ambition to provide a first class service to our customers

• Sound understanding of Microsoft software packages including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access along with the company’s internal SAP packages

• Willingness to both work alone and as part of a team when required

• The ability to build and maintain good networks with internal departments, company partners and contractors

• Ability to work to tight deadlines and in difficult circumstances, whilst still providing an unbiased service to our customers

Good to know

• The successful candidate will be required to participate in a standby rota (1 in 4)

• A full UK drivers licence is required

• A company vehicle will be provided
