Reporting to the Regional Catering Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of our café, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and colleagues alike. This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by example, supporting the team to deliver high-quality food and drink in a friendly, efficient manner - both front of house and in the kitchen. What You'll Do 1. Supervise café employees, ensuring high standards of service and food presentation. 2. Work alongside the kitchen team to prepare and serve food to agreed standards. 3. Manage daily operations, including stock control, hygiene checks, and cash handling. 4. Support the Café Manager with scheduling, training, and team development. 5. Maintain a positive, inclusive environment for both guests and team members. 6. Uphold health and safety standards and compliance with food regulations.,

  • A satisfactory DBS check will be required prior to appointment.
  • Due to the nature of our industry, all successful applicants will be required to provide satisfactory references, complete a post-offer medical assessment, and undergo a Basic Disclosure criminal records check. Some roles may require additional checks or security clearance. Further details will be provided following acceptance of an offer.
    Previous experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • A passion for great food and creating memorable experiences.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and peak visitor periods.
  • Confidence working in a kitchen environment, including basic food preparation.

Essential Requirements Qualifications

  • Current Food Hygiene Level 3 minimum certification
  • Satisfactory DBS check

Experience

  • Practical health & safety and food safety experience in a visitor attraction or retail or restaurant environment
  • Experience working with the general public

Knowledge & Skills

  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Commercial catering and kitchen supervisory experience
  • Catering/Retail customer service knowledge or specialism
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Good to know

The role requires availability to work school holdiays, weekends and bank holidays, with an expectation of working approximately one day each weekend on average. Additional flexibility may be required during particularly busy operational periods. Where additional hours are worked beyond contracted requirements, employees will be entitled to time off in lieu (TOIL) in accordance with company procedures.
