You will manage IT Assets that are at the heart of DWP Digital's delivery - the right tools, products and contracts to enable our people to transform public services used by millions of people.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Experience embedding a value for money culture within technical teams, ensuring technology solutions, services, and assets deliver maximum efficiency and measurable return on investment.
- A proven track record of leading continuous service improvement across digital platforms and IT operations, enhancing performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Understanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) principles and practices, with the ability to leverage asset lifecycle data to support compliance, optimised utilisation, cost control, and strategic technology decision making.
You and your role
As our IT Asset Manager, you will be accountable for managing IT assets across mid tier publishers, ensuring deployment data is accurate, compliant, and aligned with organisational standards. You will analyse deployment information, work closely with stakeholders, and coordinate corrective actions to address noncompliance, policy breaches, or risks relating to software licence agreements. You will contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of asset management strategies, policies, standards, and procedures, while maintaining the integrity of all asset information within your remit. Your role includes optimising publisher specific strategies, providing clear and insightful reporting on asset performance, and evidencing process effectiveness and data quality. You will also support the adoption of new technologies, using automation where possible to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and overall operational maturity. Working alongside the Asset Management Lead, you will help embed strategy, policy, processes, and performance measures across all IT assets governed by the DWP IT Asset Management team and those deployed across the wider DWP estate.

Location: You'll join us in your choice of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool or Manchester.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of £38,772.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth £11,232 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 24 days rising to 26 after one year. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
