What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experience building trusted relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong reporting and data management skills, with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI and SharePoint.
  • The ability to analyse delivery information and turn data into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Knowledge of project, programme and portfolio management, including governance, assurance and delivery best practice.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

You and your role

As an Associate Digital Portfolio Manager, you'll help keep some of DWP Digital's most important projects and products on track, supporting the delivery of services used by millions of people across the UK. Working with delivery teams, programme leaders and senior stakeholders, you'll help coordinate priorities, monitor progress and identify risks and dependencies that could affect delivery. You'll help ensure teams have the information they need to make informed decisions and deliver successful outcomes. You'll develop valuable portfolio management skills, gaining experience in planning, performance reporting, governance and decision-making within a large and complex digital organisation. As part of DWP Digital's Portfolio Management community, you'll work alongside experienced colleagues while building skills in stakeholder management, analysis, problem-solving and strategic thinking. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in portfolio management while contributing to one of the largest and most ambitious digital transformation programmes in government.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home (40%) and some time collaborating face to face in a hub (60%).

Pay: £38,772 a year.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth £11,232 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 24 days rising to 26 days after one year, and up to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
