What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- A Strong working knowledge with a deep understanding of each layer of an organisation\’s cyber security controls, designing solutions that enable defence in depth and services with security controls embedded.
- Significant experience of implementing enterprise security tooling and platforms in line with the NIST cyber security framework or equivalent, and CIS security controls.
- Influential and able to lead investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements. Can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to determine solutions.
- Extensive experience and proven track record in designing, implementing, administering and supporting Security products and services, ensuring adherence to Digital Security Standards and Architectural Principles both on premise and in Cloud.
- Significant experience in working hands on with the business and SME\’s to define use cases and developing searches in Splunk Enterprise Security to provide the required security alerting across multiple tools.

You\’ll be joining our Security Ecosystem team, where you\’ll lead on technical decisions, drive secure development and help us build resilient, high-quality services across AWS, Azure and SaaS platforms. Your expertise in Splunk and Splunk Enterprise Security will be key as you guide the design and operation of secure systems that support millions.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your deep technical knowledge will help steer DWP\’s wider strategy. You\’ll collaborate with architecture and engineering teams, advise senior stakeholders and make sure our products are secure, stable and aligned with best practices.

Location: You\’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Leeds, London, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model – you\’ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £89,995.
Pension: You\’ll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £21,000 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You\’ll also get all the usual public holidays.
