We are looking for outstanding Senior Network Engineers to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital, to assist in the design of Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives. What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • The ability to configure, design and maintain NGFWs with emphasis on Panorama and Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Experience in VXLAN overlay technology, EVPN and multi-site fabric architectures and VRF segmentation (e.g. Arista technologies).
  • Experience in load balancing technologies and modules (e.g. F5 ASM, APM, DNS).
  • Skills in implementing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols, in particular complex OSPF and BGP environments for optimized traffic flow and redundancy.
  • Knowledge in DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience in cloud-based WiFi automated solutions related authentication methods (e.g. Aruba Central, Clearpass and AOS10).

You and your role

Our Senior Network Engineers provide operational support and carry out planned BAU work such as upgrades and failover exercises as well as provide input into service improvements. We have several projects underway in Wi-Fi, On-Prem Datacentre and Cloud solutions that require skilled, self-sufficient, and determined engineers like you. You will drive improvements and good practices, as well as ensuring current legacy infrastructure remains stable for us and our customers. We want you to be at your best too. We will give you the tools and time to build your skills and learn new tricks - with coaching, mentoring, qualifications and formal learning, meet-ups or whatever else works for you.

Details

Location: You will join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is more convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you will spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £68,517.

Pension: You will get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexitime. You will also get all the usual public holidays.
