We are looking for 6 new Product Managers to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

DWP is the UK’s largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people. The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique.

You and your role: We’re transforming the way DWP works in a range of business areas, so we have a number of projects and programmes for you to work on. Right now we’re looking for Product Managers to join these teams:

  • Bereavement and care - Focusing on those who need help at a difficult and sensitive time in their lives.
  • Health and Disability - Providing support to the 16 million people in the UK who have a health condition or disability.
  • The Hybrid Cloud Services (HCS) - Developing, managing and supporting products used by engineering teams across the DWP Digital community to help underpin and deliver DWP’s services.
  • DWP Analytics - Responsible for the development of reusable technical capability that underpins the development and deployment of analytics driven controls which support benefit payment accuracy, and ambitions to reduce fraud, error and debt.

  • Personal Statement: Experience of creating and communicating a product roadmap, and gaining stakeholder buy-in.
  • Have worked with users to understand their needs and represented the user in all decision making.
  • Have prioritised product backlogs based on user needs, value and effort.
  • Experience of leading a range of specialists in multidisciplinary teams, applying an agile methodology and mindset to enable incremental delivery.

The sift panel will use the information in your employment history, personal statement, and technical statement to assess your experience, skills and knowledge against the essential criteria above.

Location: You’ll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you’ll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer pay of £55,557 to £66,058, based on your skills and experience.

Pension: You’ll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £19,137 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days and rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You’ll also get all the usual public holidays.
