Our DWP Digital teams are building, maintaining and improving public services used by millions of people. We're looking for talented Business Analysts to join our growing community, with opportunities across Digital in teams such as Working Age Services, Digital Channels, Comms and Collaboration, and Cross Boundary teams. These roles are all about shaping technical change, delivering real value, and helping improve outcomes for our users.

As a Business Analyst, you will work across the full product lifecycle, combining business needs with technical solutions to deliver value. This involves using Agile methods and industry-standard tools to produce clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring shared understanding between technical and business stakeholders, and support the Product Manager in shaping and prioritising work.

The role includes analysing and improving business processes, gathering insights through workshops and research, and turning user needs into solutions. There are strong opportunities for professional growth in our community of practice including mentorship from senior colleagues and the chance to develop leadership skills by supporting junior analysts. You will also be expected to continuously develop your expertise and contribute to the wider Business Analysis community.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

You'll be invited to complete a verbal reasoning test. If you pass the test, you'll be invited to complete both a technical statement and a personal statement. This is your opportunity to showcase clear examples and evidence of how you meet the following:

  • Technical Statement: Please give a specific example of how you've used your business analysis skills to understand a problem and how you used this to determine your next steps on a project.
  • Personal Statement: Significant experience of working across the full breadth of the Business Analyst role. Experienced in using a wide range of analysis techniques to understand the problem and needs.

Details:

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £46,547.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
