DWP Digital is looking for a Service Transition Manager to join our community of tech experts. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives. As an Associate Service Transition Manager within DWP's Digital Channels Live Service Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring new and updated IT services are introduced into live environments safely, smoothly and with minimal disruption. You will support the end-to-end coordination of service transitions for critical, high-impact digital services, helping define service readiness, acceptance criteria and transition plans, ensuring all governance, risk and assurance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating resources and managing change through structured processes.
  • Overseeing service validation to protect stability and user experience.
  • Producing key documentation and assessing readiness for live operation.
  • Identifying and managing risks and issues.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Proven background/experience in recognised service management frameworks (such as ITIL).
  • Experience in project management and delivery methodologies (such as Agile).
  • Ability to engage and communicate confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong capability in identifying, assessing and managing service transition risks.
  • Proven skill in coordinating complex activities across multiple teams.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne or Sheffield.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
