We are looking for a Tech Lead to join DWP Fraud & Error. You will lead our technical team in the prevention and detection of fraud and error in public services. You will be working at the forefront of technology used to prevent and detect fraud and error across digital products and services used by millions of people. You will be communicating a technical vision across a range of experts and areas.
Our team collaborates closely with policy, benefit lines, counter-fraud operations, and other DWP Digital groups to deliver solutions to complex challenges. We are in the middle of an ambitious transformation programme which is reimagining processes and leveraging emerging technologies to ensure that the right money reaches the right person at the right time.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Experience of leading design and reviewing solutions to complex problems with system architectures by defining and challenging patterns and principles.
- Creates precedents and sets direction.
- Responsible for providing expert domain knowledge and advice to project teams when dealing with complex projects or issues.
- Gathering a range of information from different sources and stakeholders to ensure effective decision making, clearly demonstrating a balanced approach to conclusions and recommendations.
- Reviewing existing services and external industry trends to identify areas of improvement and formulating plans to deliver enhancements to enable the management of a quality service.
You will be accountable for coordinating technical teams to design, build, and maintain products and services. You will use your expertise across multiple domains to develop technical product roadmaps and manage lifecycles, ensuring alignment with DWP's strategic objectives.
Technical expertise is essential, including cloud technologies, hosting, and a strong understanding of desktop and network environments. As an important and influential member of the Fraud and Error leadership team, you will provide technical input and advice into business discussions, helping to steer wider strategy at the most senior level.
You will use your deep knowledge of areas such as package implementation, configuration, customisation, integration, and solution architecture to find ways to improve and enhance service quality, configuration and management.
Location: You will join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you will spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £92,552.
Pension: You will get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You will also get all the usual public holidays.
