As a Senior Architect, you'll work at the heart of our Identity & Encryption team, collaborating with engineers and security experts to design solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with government strategy.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Expertise in IAM (Identity & Access Management), MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), RBAC (Role-based Access Control), and SSO (Single-Sign On) technologies
- Deep knowledge of encryption & cryptography (SSL/TLS, PKI, VPNs)
- Proven experience designing architectures across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments
- Architecture design working with project delivery teams within agile, waterfall and hybrid environments throughout the lifecycle (from concept to go-live)
- Ability to lead technical design, mentor teams, and translate business needs into secure solutions

In this role, you'll lead the design and delivery of encryption services that protect sensitive data and underpin critical government systems working across cloud and hybrid environments, modernising legacy platforms and introducing automation to drive efficiency.
Your days will be spent collaborating with architects, engineers, and security specialists to shape solutions that meet complex business needs while aligning with DWP's transformation goals. The ability to mentor others, influence stakeholders, and translate requirements into robust technical designs will make you a key contributor in our mission to deliver world-class digital services.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds or Manchester, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer pay up to £83,917. That’s £57,946 salary plus a Government Digital and Data Allowance of up to £25,971 subject to our assessment of your capability at interview.
Pension: You’ll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £16,786 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You’ll also get all the usual public holidays.
