We’re seeking a motivated Paralegal to join the Motor Volume team at DWF. The role involves managing a complex litigation caseload for Motor Insurance defendants, ensuring cases are resolved efficiently while meeting client service level agreements. The position is hybrid, requiring office attendance in Manchester 2–3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Proactively assist with a complex litigated caseload of Motor Defendant Insurance cases to conclusion in line with CPR rules and procedures.
- Apply the specific technical principles needed to drive the proactive settlement of cases and add value for the client.
- Maintain all case files in compliance with client SLA requirements.
- Use case‑management systems to improve settlement speed and add client value, while adhering to client requirements.
- Identify any cases that may require further investigation surrounding fraud indicators.
- Prioritise and organise work efficiently and effectively to meet all specified deadlines.
Essential Qualifications
- Real interest in Motor Insurance cases, preferably with experience assisting on a caseload.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail for careful analysis of files and data.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Business acumen and understanding of the clients' needs.
- Computer literacy, including proficient use of Microsoft Office.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience running a more complex Motor Insurance caseload with sound knowledge of the MOJ, Small Claim process, and the ability to assess liability and quantum.
- Understanding of the wider Motor personal injury market in terms of trends, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
- Experience working with Visual Files case‑management system.
