DWF is seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute Director to join our market-leading Finance Litigation team in Manchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex, high‑value finance litigation and advisory matters across a wide range of actions, including motor finance, asset finance litigation, fraud, and mis‑selling claims, while also managing a wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a caseload of complex finance litigation matters, serving as day‑to‑day lead on larger or more complex cases.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients on risk management, fraud prevention, recovery, and handling of mis‑selling waves, systems, procedures, and PR risk.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring high‑quality delivery.
  • Own day‑to‑day management and supervision of cases, including client reporting.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives such as client pitches, thought leadership, and networking.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 8+ years PQE with a strong background in finance litigation.
  • Proven ability to manage large‑scale actions.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent client relationship management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to mentoring and team development.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in multi‑jurisdictional disputes, High Court injunctions, and commercial insolvency.
