We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate with expertise in Clinical Negligence to join our Healthcare Team to represent Defendants, primarily acting for NHS Resolution. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of Clinical Negligence NHSR cases, as well as supporting on group litigation cases, providing high-quality legal advice and representation to our clients. This is a hybrid role with office attendance required that can be flexible. We are open to considering candidates that are based in the vicinity of the following office locations - Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol or Southampton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of high value Defendant clinical negligence matters from inception to resolution.
- Provide expert legal advice on clinical negligence claims, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating case documents.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and decision-making.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Liaise with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather information and evidence.
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Healthcare Team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for Business Development with NHS Resolution and Trust clients.
- Assist with Trust client care matters as required.
What will help you succeed in this role?
- 3+ years PQE in NHS Resolution Clinical Negligence cases is essential to this role.
- Knowledge and experience in handling complex Defendant clinical negligence cases.
- Previous experience in Group Litigation cases is preferable.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and software.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Experience supervising more junior team members.
