We're seeking an experienced Litigator to join the team as Paralegal. The team advises and defends litigated Road Traffic Accident (RTA) claims for a number of insurer clients as well as bringing counterclaims. The team deals with claims for personal injury claims with a value of £1,000 and up to £25,000. You can expect to receive exposure to a variety of matters, from minor injury accidents to more complex accidents and procedural issues. Working with established clients and building rapport with their customers. We gain knowledge from working closely with colleagues who have a variety of experience. The role is office based, and in time with scope to work a hybrid pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Assist fee earners on a case load of Motor Fast Track litigated files
  • Deal with incoming post and filling in to the case management system, in order to pro-actively manage a case load
  • Provide advice to clients on liability and quantum, procedural updates and reserves
  • Review and gather medical reports and records for injury claims where appropriate

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Proven experience managing or supporting on litigated RTA injury claims.
  • Previous experience handling/working on claims in a legal environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while working to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to quickly and carefully analyse files and sensitive data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with process and case management systems used in personal injury litigation is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with the Visual Files case management system.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the importance and use of Management Information.
