The Motor Volume - Recoveries team issue county court proceedings for our clients to pursue a recovery of monetary losses incurred as a result of road traffic accidents. Our instructions come from insurance companies, and we act to recover their losses, as well as any uncontentious uninsured losses their policyholders have incurred. This type of work is subrogated recovery work, and we handle the matter from pre-litigation all the way to a final hearing/trial.

The role is hybrid, with office attendance required in Liverpool 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of a litigated motor recoveries caseload from inception to resolution.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence.
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, third parties, and other solicitors.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records.
  • Support senior fee earners with administrative and procedural tasks.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Previous experience handling in your own right or assisting on a litigated Motor Insurance caseload.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and to be able to carefully analyse files and data.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs.
  • Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • An understanding of the wider Motor Recoveries market in terms of trends, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
  • Previous experience of working with Visual Files case management system.
