Overview
DWF are seeking a proactive and experienced Claims Adjuster, with a strong background handling Motor claims to join our Corporate Claims team. The Corporate Risk team acts for a number of well-known corporate clients, providing high-quality advice across a wide range of high-value and complex matters. This offers an interesting and rewarding portfolio of cases and an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within a leading professional services environment.
As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing and progressing a Motor caseload, to effective and satisfactory conclusions for DWF’s corporate clients. This is a key role, focused on delivering timely and accurate claim resolutions while providing an exceptional level of service to both corporate clients and insurer partners. You can expect to receive exposure to a variety of matters, from minor injury accidents to more complex accidents and procedural issues. You will be working with current and new Corporate clients, and their insurers and brokers, so will have a significant amount of client exposure. The role is hybrid, with office attendance required in Leeds a minimum of 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day handling of a portfolio comprising Motor claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in accordance with Global Claims Handling guidelines, service standards and regulations.
- Ensure reserving philosophy is adhered to and reserves booked are in compliance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial teams in connection with claim issues, trends, review of reinsurance contract language and service standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and market peers.
- Monitor trends and developments in Casualty claims and keep underwriters and actuaries up to date.
- Keep up to date with legal developments, i.e. relevant case law; new and developing precedents; changes in legislation that impacts the portfolios.
- Collaborate with members of the Global claims team on common claims and internal processes to ensure consistency.
Essential qualifications
- Previous and tangible Claims experience, dealing with claims from cradle to grave, preferably including Motor, but we will also consider applications from those with EL/PL & Casualty experience.
- Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships both with external clients, including Solicitors and Brokers.
- High level of financial and commercial awareness.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse information.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks.
