The CMA Insurance team is looking for a Claims Adjuster with a solid background in handling Commercial Property claims. In this role, you will work closely with your manager and colleagues to ensure a high standard of claims handling, underpinned by quality, integrity and professionalism. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, actuaries and finance teams, and build relationships with external clients such as brokers and cedents. Operating within a highly collaborative team environment, you will contribute to shared corporate strategies and objectives. This role offers remote working, with occasional travel to a local office for client meetings or team collaboration as required.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day handling of a portfolio comprising International & UK Commercial Property claims, across both London Market and Lloyd’s platforms, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in accordance with Global Claims Handling guidelines, service standards and regulations.
- Ensure reserving philosophy is adhered to and reserves booked are in compliance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial teams in connection with claim issues, trends, review of reinsurance contract language and service standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and market peers.
- Monitor trends and developments in Casualty claims and keep underwriters and actuaries up to date.
- Keep up to date with legal developments, i.e. relevant case law; new and developing precedents; changes in legislation that impacts the portfolios.
- Collaborate with members of the Global claims team on common claims and internal processes to ensure consistency.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven claims handling experience within the reinsurance industry.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience across both UK and International Commercial Property claims.
- Familiarity with Write Back, ECF2 and DOCOsoft systems.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to assess data and other business information, identify trends and draw well reasoned conclusions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while independently managing a portfolio of claims.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Write Back, ECF2 and DOCOsoft systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including the use of basic formulas and pivot tables to manipulate and summarise data.
