Location & Working Conditions
The role can be worked from Glasgow or Edinburgh on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Strong technical ability with a thorough grasp of principles, case law and litigation.
- Working with clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
- Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices.
- Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Developing technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.
Essential Criteria
- Experience handling own caseload of pre-litigated and Sheriff Court actions and assisting more senior team members with large value, complex files.
- Experience managing Employers Liability, Public Liability and Motor claims.
- Insurance litigation experience is essential.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience handling litigation in one of the following areas: Employers Liability, Public Liability, Motor, RTA, Casualty, Disease, Personal injury, Serious injury and catastrophic injury.
- Experience of acting for Defenders, including litigation experience.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and work effectively under pressure.
