Finance Assistant – Bank Reconciliations

The role is a Bank Reconciliation Specialist based in Manchester City Centre. You will join the Bank Reconciliation team and support a variety of Bank Reconciliation responsibilities. You will provide Bank Reconciliation support and analysis for the firm across all Groups bank accounts and help deliver a detailed month-end reconciliation of all bank accounts by performing daily reconciliations in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
The role is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office; the team typically attends the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a 9-month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities
- Reconciling Client and Office Accounts, Client Loss Fund accounts and Escrow Account in accordance with Solicitors Accounting Rules (SAR).
- Manage all shared query inboxes ensuring timely and accurate responses to stakeholders.
- Perform daily reconciliations of all bank accounts to ensure accurate records, focusing on SAR compliance and resolving unreconciled items.
- Develop close working relationships with other areas of Finance (Treasury, Cashiering) and the wider business to ensure a seamless Bank Reconciliation process.
- Circulate daily balances and office receipts to senior management.
- Assist in the compilation, maintenance and review of all bank mandates; liaise with banks to keep information accurate and up to date.
- Monitor and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
- Attend team meetings and help implement improvements in identified problem areas to enhance relationships and team performance.
- Build effective internal and external relationships; consider new information in line with Service Standards, ISO Procedures and SAR requirements.

- Legal Cashiering experience is advantageous
- Experience of SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority) requirements
