Well, we\’re on the lookout for a commercially astute Director of Data & AI to become a pivotal part of our leadership team and drive our business growth through innovative data solutions. This prestigious senior-level role reports directly to our COO and will require close collaboration with our CTO and Head of Transformation. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage senior-level relationships effectively, as this role involves working closely with divisional CEOs and other functional leaders.
The role demands an individual who can seamlessly blend commercial acumen with technical expertise, with a clear focus on delivering tangible business value. The successful candidate will be entrusted with developing and implementing robust strategies, including defining and embedding appropriate governance, centralizing data management, building a future-proof reporting capability, and optimizing the data assets of our DWF technology estate. Ensuring our data is accurate, complete, secure, reliable, and optimized will be a key responsibility
Responsibilities
- Define a global vision and strategy for data that enables the organisation to achieve its objectives and aligns with wider Technology strategy
- Determine the data technology that the organisation needs and the strategy for sourcing it
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of data systems
- Establish data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Ensure the organisation uses data ethically and complies with data standards and regulations
- Define and implement solutions for high quality data analytics and reporting solutions across the group, to support the value proposition with a focus on centralisation of global data sets.
- Build scalable data platforms to reduce execution costs of core analytics and reporting.
- Ensure the organisation has people with the level of data skills it needs and work with key stakeholders to agree an approach for increasing the organisational capability with data
- Work with cyber security to ensure data is secure while staying accessible and controllable
- Develop and execute AI strategy to align with business goals
- Work with various departments to integrate AI and data initiatives
- Leverage AI technologies to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency
- Work closely with cybersecurity to protect sensitive customer data and business operations
What will help you succeed in this role?
- Demonstrated experience as a Senior Leader in Data/AI or a comparable executive positio
- Significant financial background with experience in investment cases and capital expenditure projects.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms such as Power BI, Fabric & Co-Pilot
- Experience with data technologies and database management
- Understanding of emerging data processing tools and techniques
- Knowledge of data legislation and governance across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience in a senior technology leadership role (CTO, VP of Engineering, etc.)
- Strong background in software development, IT infrastructure, or cloud computing
- Driving innovation in data to deliver a differentiated client experience
- Expertise in AI, data management, and technology governance
- Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and product management frameworks
- Technical proficiency in software engineering, cloud computing, and AI technologies
- Ability to manage technology budgets and optimize resources
