Why join us? Join our nationally recognised Catastrophic Injury team as a Senior Paralegal or Newly Qualified (NQ) Solicitor. As part of one of the UK’s largest and most recognised Major Injury and Casualty departments, you’ll work with leading household-name insurers on high-value, complex personal injury claims. The Catastrophic Injury team offers extensive expertise across serious personal injury matters, including high-value catastrophic injury cases as well as lower-value employer liability (EL) and public liability (PL) claims. This role provides the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement, with occasional attendance at the Birmingham office as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to senior team members managing a complex, multi-track catastrophic injury caseload - the majority of the cases you handle will be RTA/Motor injury.
  • Draft court documents, attend hearings, and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
  • Conduct liability investigations, gather and assess evidence, and prepare client advice.
  • Identify appropriate medical experts and draft detailed instructions for expert reports.
  • Review and analyse medical records and other case-related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the case management system in line with client service level agreements.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support case progression.
  • Deliver exceptional client care and maintain professional communication at all times.

What will help you succeed in this role?

  • An experienced Paralegal or newly qualified Solicitor.
  • Previous experience managing a claimant or defendant personal injury caseload independently or under supervision (preferably including RTA/Motor injury).
  • Exposure to Fast Track and/or Multi Track personal injury claims.
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
