Associate – Defamation, Privacy and Data Protection
Join DWF as an Associate Solicitor in our Global Risks team, based in London, Manchester or Leeds. The role focuses on defamation, reputation, privacy and data protection across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Advises on defamation, breach of confidence and privacy breach claims from pre‑action to litigation.
- Provides GDPR compliance support, data subject rights and regulatory obligations.
- Handles takedown requests, online content removal and reputation management strategies.
- Represents clients in proceedings, settlement negotiations and service level agreements.
- Manages cases efficiently and builds business networks through writing articles, presentations and seminars.
Qualifications – Essential
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with 0‑4 years PQE in defamation, privacy or data protection.
- Experience in advising on all stages of the claims cycle from pre‑action to litigation.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to business development.
Qualifications – Desirable
