DWF Chambers is an expert, quality, streamlined advocacy service, operating as an alternative to the external Bar and traditional chambers.

Operating as an in‑house set of chambers, DWF’s Barristers and Advocates offer specialist advocacy, drafting and advisory services across a variety of specialisms such as Commercial, Fraud, Occupational Health & Disease, Catastrophic Injury, Professional Indemnity, Employment, Costs and Inquests. The team comprises approximately 35 barristers, solicitors, solicitor‑advocates and advocates, alongside a specialist run clerking team based across a number of our UK DWF offices including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Leeds, Liverpool, and Newcastle. Work typically arises as a result of referrals from legal colleagues but also direct client relationships.

Training and shadowing will be given to all candidates before they undertake Court. The successful candidate can expect to be in court most days, conducting hearings. You will conduct small claims hearings, Stage 3 disposals, interlocutory hearings, case management conferences, applications and final hearings for which you have the necessary rights of audience. Instructions will initially be largely insurance litigation with a focus on personal injury. DWF Chambers has a dedicated clerking team to manage your diary. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that travel is minimised, the nature of the role is such that you may be required to attend hearings across the country, potentially involving overnight stays.
