Overview
The DWF Major Injury & Casualty team at DWF provide expertise in Birmingham and are currently hiring for a Solicitor to Associate. This role involves handling a range of insurance claims, both international and domestic. Our client list is prestigious and growing. We also advise prestigious corporate clients, either through insurance work or directly. We act for a large number of insurers, many of whom are household names, dealing with Defendant Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) matters. We offer a hybrid working pattern and are flexible on office attendance based on candidate location.
Responsibilities
- To handle a mixed caseload of defendant fast-track and multi-track claims, in Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), in addition to assisting senior team members (Partner and Senior Associate) on high value complex cases.
- Advising clients, including insurers and corporate clients, on liability, quantum, and litigation strategy.
- Drafting documents, preparing for court, and engaging in settlement negotiations.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
- Staying updated on legal developments in catastrophic injury and insurance law.

Qualifications
- Demonstrable interest and prior experience in Defendant Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL) is ESSENTIAL to this role.
- Experience handling defendant personal injury cases, either independently or in a supporting role to senior team members.
- Previous experience within a defendant insurance law firm.
- Proven ability to manage a personal caseload effectively.
- A team player with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
