Our Casualty team at DWF are currently hiring for a Paralegal, dealing with a varied caseload, ranging in value from small claim track to high-end fast track. The team mainly deal with bodily injury claims, including Road Traffic Accidents (RTA) and Employers Liability (EL) / Public Liability (PL) matters.
As a Paralegal you will play a key role in supporting one of our Chelmsford based clients, working within a small team of legal professionals, as part of our wider large London team, to deliver a high quality, professional service on behalf of DWF. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on legal experience in a client facing role where you will be empowered to work autonomously and, in due course, manage your own caseload of high-profile cases.
** The successful candidate must be able to work from the client site in Chelmsford 1 to 2 days each week **
Responsibilities
- Provide Paralegal support to our Chelmsford based client as part of the DWF Casualty team
- To action cases in line with the department\’s and client\’s service standards and protocols
- To act as a trusted member within the team, taking responsibility and ensuring the case management system is kept up to date with court orders, reviewing confidential records, and liaising with clients
- Dealing with technical aspects of the cases, under the supervision of more senior team members
- Progress cases to a satisfactory and speedy conclusion in accordance with the client requirements

Essential
- Experience working in a legal environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume workload.
- Proficiency in legal research and familiarity with case management systems.
- A client-focused approach and a strong team player mentality.
Desirable
- A law degree, LPC, or equivalent legal qualification
- Prior experience handling or assisting on litigated cases
- Experience working within motor injury and/or knowledge of personal injury claims processes and procedures
