The Org Design Specialist will play a key role in supporting the wider HR function by leading complex, enterprise‑wide organisation design and workforce transformation initiatives across the business. Working in close partnership with senior leaders, the role will translate business strategy, financial drivers, and capability requirements into fit‑for‑purpose organisational structures and workforce models, carefully balancing employee impact, delivery risk, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end organisation design activity, including:
  • Structural redesign and re‑organisation
  • Role, capability, and workforce modelling
  • Span of control and layer optimisation
  • Workforce segmentation and capacity planning
  • Operating model definition and refinement

Track delivery and outcomes through clearly defined KPIs and success measures, ensuring organisation design decisions deliver sustainable value and support the firm’s strategic objectives.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Proven experience leading organisation design, restructuring, or workforce transformation initiatives, including complex consultation and workforce transition activities particularly within central support functions.
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation, consultation requirements, and TUPE principles.
  • Experience balancing commercial, people, and legal risk in ambiguous, high‑impact organisational change environments.
  • Ability to translate business strategy into fit‑for‑purpose organisational structures and operating models.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills with commercial awareness.
  • Demonstrated capability to influence, engage, and align stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑management skills, with the ability to drive consensus and manage ambiguity.
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to prioritise competing demands effectively.
  • Experience working with people and organisational data to inform decisions and measure outcomes.
  • High level of attention to detail.

Desirable

  • 5 years’ experience within OD role.
  • Experience with organisational design and change management.
  • Understanding or experience across HR Systems, such as HiBob.
