Based in the heart of Spinningfields, this is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a high‑profile, multi‑site workplace environment spanning 82,000 sq. ft. You’ll lead from the front, shaping how our offices operate day‑to‑day while influencing longer‑term workplace strategy, employee experience, and service excellence across the business. This is a visible leadership role where your impact will be felt immediately, with working hours across a shift pattern between 7am–7pm (40 hours per week).

Responsibilities

  • You’ll take full ownership of Workplace Services across our Manchester offices, ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of all facilities operations including maintenance, cleaning, security, waste management, and supplier coordination.
  • You’ll lead a team of 11, setting clear expectations, driving performance, and creating a culture where service standards are consistently high.
  • Alongside this, you’ll manage budgets, oversee procurement and vendor performance, and ensure all services are delivered in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs.
  • Beyond the day‑to‑day, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our workplace environment, leading on compliance, audits, and health & safety, supporting office moves and refurbishments, and contributing to wider workplace strategy around space planning, sustainability, and technology.
  • You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, acting as the go‑to expert for Workplace Services while continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency and enhance the overall employee and client experience.

What will help you succeed in this role?

  • Essential
    • Professional FM qualification (e.g. IWFM Level 6, MIWFM, CIWFM)
    • Proven leadership experience within facilities or workplace management (multi‑site preferred)
    • Considerable knowledge of health & safety, compliance, and building regulations
    • Experience managing budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
    • Proven ability of leading and developing high‑performing teams
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Desirable
    • Experience within a professional services or corporate environment
    • Technical understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical)
    • Project management experience (refurbishments, relocations, installations)
    • Experience managing complex supplier frameworks and contracts
    • Exposure to workplace strategy, sustainability, or transformations
    • Focus on continuous improvement and enhancing employee experience
