DWF is looking for an Enterprise Risk Manager to join us in Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Excellence, you will play a key role in strengthening and embedding DWF’s Group Risk Management Framework across the business. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of the organisation, partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple functions to enhance risk management practices, improve controls, and support the continued development of our risk governance framework. The role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of DWF’s risk capability as the function continues to evolve.

Responsibilities

  • You will support the effective operation and ongoing development of the Group Risk Management Framework, helping to ensure operational and strategic risks are consistently identified, assessed, and managed across the business.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will guide and challenge stakeholders to ensure risks, actions, and controls are clearly owned and that issues outside risk tolerance are addressed promptly.
  • You will oversee the management of risk registers, monitor risk metrics, and support the delivery of robust risk reporting to inform decision making at Practice, Divisional, and Group level forums.
  • You will play an important role in strengthening risk governance and culture across the organisation, including overseeing risk incident management and root cause analysis, supporting first line teams in managing and mitigating risk exposures, and ensuring effective controls are implemented and embedded.
  • You will manage the Group’s policies and procedures framework and work with the Head of Risk and Excellence to maintain and expand ISO9001:2015 certification, supporting areas of the business yet to achieve the standard.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Essential

  • Experience in enterprise or operational risk management within professional services or a similar complex environment.
  • Considerable understanding of risk management frameworks, governance structures, and the range of financial and non-financial risks impacting organisations.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System, including knowledge of ISO9001 standards.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and challenge stakeholders at all levels across the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Desirable

  • Experience operating within a second line risk function or delivering risk management activities within a first line role.
  • Previous experience within legal, financial services, or professional services environments.
  • Experience supporting or managing risk registers, risk reporting, and incident management processes.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and risk control frameworks.
  • Degree level education or a relevant risk qualification such as the Institute of Risk Management (IRM).
  • Experience supporting organisations in achieving or maintaining ISO9001 certification.
