DWF is seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute Director to join our market‑leading Finance Litigation team in Manchester. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex, high‑value finance litigation and advisory matters across a wide range of actions, including motor finance and asset finance litigation, fraud and mis‑selling claims. This role is based in our Manchester office on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Where appropriate, lead and manage a caseload of complex finance litigation matters; otherwise act as the day‑to‑day lead on larger or more complex matters.
- Provide strategic legal advice to clients on risk management, including the detection, prevention, and recovery of fraud‑related losses; and the strategic handling of mis‑selling waves, systems, procedures, and PR risk.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development and ensuring high‑quality delivery.
- Take ownership of day‑to‑day management and supervision of cases in the team and the client reporting requirements.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including client pitches, thought leadership, and networking.

- 8+ years PQE with a strong background in finance litigation.
- Proven ability to manage large‑scale actions.

Desirable
- It would be helpful, but it is not essential, to have experience in multi‑jurisdictional disputes, High Court injunctions and commercial insolvency.
