DWF are currently seeking a Paralegal to join their Motor Volume team. The Motor Volume team act for a variety of high-profile insurer companies and defend a wide range of litigated claims arising from Road Traffic Accidents (RTA); as a result of which someone has incurred a loss, including Small Claims, Fast Track and MOJ Stage 3 cases. The role represents an opportunity to have responsibility and progress a Motor Insurance (defendant) litigated caseload to an effective and satisfactory conclusion for clients, whilst ensuring high levels of service delivery and maintaining management information under the terms of the client's service level agreements (SLA's). The role is hybrid, with office attendance required in Leeds 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- To proactively assist with a complex litigated caseload of Motor Defendant Insurance cases to conclusion in line with CPR rules and procedures.
- To appropriately apply the specific technical principles needed to drive the proactive settlement of the case whilst adding value for the client.
- Have knowledge of and work cases in line with all client SLA's for the files within your responsibility.
- Proactive use of case management systems to improve speed of settlement and adding value to the cases, whilst adhering to client requirements.
- To identify any cases which may require further investigation surrounding Fraud indicators.
- Prioritise and organise your work efficiently and effectively to ensure all tasks are completed to specified deadlines.

Essential
- Has a real interest in Motor Insurance cases, preferably with previous experience assisting on a caseload.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail to be able to carefully analyse files and data.
- The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Business acumen and an understanding of the clients' needs.
- Computer literate including proficient use of Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Previous experience of running a more complex Motor Insurance Caseload with sound knowledge of the MOJ, Small Track process, and the ability to assess liability and quantum.
- An understanding of the wider Motor personal Injury market in terms of trends, strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.
