DWF is seeking to recruit a Paralegal to join the nationally recognised Financial Litigation & Debt Recovery team. This role will be based in our Glasgow office with the option of a hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Assist fee earners on files and all aspects of undefended court actions, including Simple Procedure, Summary Cause, and Ordinary Cause, to achieve effective and satisfactory outcomes for a range of clients, such as motor finance, debt purchase, utility, and corporate clients.
- Support qualified associates with raising court actions, minuting for decree with accuracy, and pursuing money judgments and Return of Goods Orders.
- Process tasks within the team’s joint workbox, ensuring court action, enforcement, and client correspondence are handled promptly.
- Manage and respond to Time to Pay and Time Order Applications, handle incoming calls, take payments by phone, and negotiate payment plans per client instructions.
- Process new business files in line with client requirements.
- Instruct and manage trace reports and the enforcement of court decrees.
- Perform in-house investigations, including property ownership checks, asset investigations, and insolvency checks.

Essential
- BA in Scottish Law OR HNC in Legal studies OR equivalent qualification.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and legal professionals.
Desirable
- Familiarity with Scottish court procedures, including Simple Procedure, Summary Cause, and Ordinary Cause.
- Proficiency in legal research, with the ability to interpret and apply legal principles.
