Why join us? DWF are currently seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to join the Finance team on a 12 month FTC. This role offers the opportunity to join a team at the centre of our Digital Transformation programme, working on high‑impact systems and process improvements. As an SME for finance operations, you will work closely with the stakeholders in those teams, to identify areas for improvement, shaping the definition, configuration and implementation of solutions, to satisfy the business requirements and support our Digital Transformation project. You will collaborate with our development team to design, build, test, and deploy innovative technology solutions to support our business operations. Your expertise in transactional legal finance processes, 3E and client accounts will be critical to your success in this role. This position is based in our Manchester office and offers the flexibility of hybrid working.
Responsibilities
- Support our Digital Transformation project, to deliver multiple projects and the implementation of new applications across Finance Operations.
- SME and second line support for transactional finance queries.
- Working with colleagues, supplier support teams and external consultants to agree business requirements for changes, new features and products.
- Exploring and evaluating new features and functionality, developing new processes and workflows along with the production of all relevant documentation, and reconciling information between applications.
- Completing change specifications and monitoring the delivery and timely completion of changes.
- Perform, oversee and assist with user acceptance testing, including the development of test plans to cover all application functionality.
- Writing SQL scripts for bespoke reporting.
- Maintaining existing processes – including fixing bugs in code, user setups, etc.
- Provide support to the Finance Systems Lead, Operational Finance and Digital Transformation teams, in the delivery of ad‑hoc requests and project work on systems developments, enhancements, configuration, and upgrades.
What will help you succeed in this role?
Essential
- Demonstrable experience as a Legal Cashiering SME within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Considerable working knowledge of Elite 3E (TR / 3E), including core finance and cashiering processes.
- Proven experience supporting transactional legal finance processes, including client accounts.
- Good working knowledge of SRA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including writing scripts for reporting or analysis.
- Considerable analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience supporting finance systems within a digital transformation or change environment.
- Exposure to SSRS, SSIS or SSAS.
- Accounting or finance systems background within professional services.
- Experience working with DevOps or similar change / release management tools.
- Understanding of project management principles.
