The eDiscovery team at DWF is looking for an eDiscovery Specialist or a recent graduate to join an established and agile in‑house eDiscovery team. The role offers either an entry point into the eDiscovery industry or the chance to apply existing experience within a fast‑paced law firm environment, working directly on complex, high‑profile eDiscovery matters and gaining hands‑on experience supporting nationally and internationally significant cases. The role is open to both graduates from a technology background with strong aptitude and individuals with existing eDiscovery experience. For the right applicant, we have the support structure in place to further develop your existing expertise and potential. The role offers the flexibility of hybrid working with 2 days per week in the Manchester office.
Responsibilities
- Deliver consultative eDiscovery support to clients and provide project support across multiple concurrent matters of varying complexity, scale, and geographic scope.
- Ensure the successful delivery of eDiscovery services, including data preservation, collection, and processing.
- Provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting issues and developing effective solutions.
- Perform advanced searches across large electronic data sets to support investigations and reviews.
- Identify opportunities to optimise data sets and reduce data volumes.
- Implement and manage AI‑enabled workflows to support document review and analysis.
- Conduct review quality control checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Identify and apply a range of legal technology solutions to address client challenges and improve processes.
Qualifications
Essential
- In-depth knowledge of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM), including the applicable processes, tools and inherent risks at each stage.
- Understanding or experience of document review platforms such as Relativity.
- A sound understanding of digital forensic principles.
- Data manipulation and advanced Excel abilities.
- A solid, practical understanding of AI.
- Significant direct client‑facing support experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Desirable
- Ability to optimise processes through the creation of custom scripting/automation.
- Relativity certifications.
- Ability to identify and deliver business and market‑aligned innovation.
- Intermediate and above experience with T‑SQL, Python and/or C#.
- Experience supporting eDiscovery workflows involving more complex data sources, such as hyperlinked attachments, chat data and mobile phone data.
