DWF are currently seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the Casualty team in Birmingham.
The Casualty Insurance team work with a prestigious client list that continues to grow; many of whom are household names. Providing expertise in complex, catastrophic and large loss claims the team manage a varied defendant caseload including, Casualty, EL/PL, Abuse, Public Sector Utilities and Product Liability.
As Associate/Senior Associate you will be expected to manage your own varied caseload along with providing support to Directors and Partners with other wide ranging and complex matters.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring, in conjunction with senior fee earners, that cases are progressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Strong technical ability to include a thorough grasp of principles and case law and topics.
- Working with our valued and long-standing clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
- Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices.
- Building stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Developing your technical and commercial knowledge via training or working practices.

Essential
- Qualified with experience of handling in your own right or supporting senior team members on either a defendant Casualty, EL/PL, Abuse, Public Sector Utilities or, Product Liability caseload.
- Strong advocacy skills and experience representing clients at inquests.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and work independently.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
