About Dwelly
Dwelly is a propertyâtech startâup founded in 2023. We are building an AIâdriven rentalâmanagement platform focused on longâterm residential rentals in the UK. Our endâtoâend marketplace serves both landlords and tenants, helping to improve rental processes and make decisions faster. We handle contract management, payments, property, tenant and landlord management and reâengineer traditional agency processes to elevate client experiences and drive efficiency.
The Role
We are seeking a highly detailâoriented and versatile Senior System/Data Analyst to join our team, focusing on the critical Payments and Financial Accounting domain. This crossâdisciplinary role sits at the intersection of Systems Analysis, Data Engineering, and Finance, with the core mission to fully automate and optimise our complex financial workflows. You will be responsible for ensuring the absolute accuracy of money movement and financial reporting for a portfolio of thousands of properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and fully automate the endâtoâend payment lifecycle for tenant rent and landlord payouts, aiming for 100 % elimination of manual reconciliation for complex scenarios.
- Deepâdive into existing production logic, read backend code, and reverseâengineer complex financial calculations to design automation logic.
- Develop meticulous, centâaccurate Technical Specifications (TS) for the engineering team to implement payment and accounting logic.
- Design and implement control dashboards and reconciliation processes to ensure total financial accuracy across all systems, validating control sums down to the cent.
- Define and track logic for handling payment arrears, debtâcollection plans, and complex expense deductions (e.g., agency commission, repair costs, multiâmonth splits).
- Ensure correct separation and accounting of client money and agency money in compliance with UK regulations, avoiding double counting of cash flows.
- Model and track complex financial flows, integrating nuances such as paymentâsystem commissions.
- Act as a bridge between the business's financial complexity and the engineering team.
- Occasionally contribute small code changes (e.g., a 15âline pull request) to solve problems or prove concepts directly, in lieu of lengthy documentation.
Requirements
- High level of autonomy and a fullâstack analyst skill set.
- Ability to solve complex technical challenges involving financial data and high accuracy.
- Preference for working with data and systems logic over managing people or pushing stakeholders.
- Perfectionist attitude toward financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Comfortable reading and understanding backend code to inform specifications.
- Working English that allows for seamless professional communication.
Additional Fit
- Enjoy the challenge of ensuring financial control sums align perfectly to the cent.
- Seek a niche role where attention to detail and a calm approach to complex problems are highly valued.
- Experience in an international environment.
Conditions
- Remote (Âą London time zone).
- Market compensation in GBP (ability to receive foreign currency payments is required).
- Must be based outside the Russian Federation.
What is it like being a Dwellyâer
- Customer obsession rather than competitive focus.
- Passion for invention.
- Operational excellence.
- Longâterm thinking.
