Our client is looking for a Garment Tech and are open to various different profiles. Either Full-time for a more junior profile or it can be a freelance/part-time contract for someone with a large amount of experience in luxury womenswear.
Role Overview: As a Garment Technologist Generalist, you will play a crucial role in bringing luxury designs to life. You will work closely with the design, product development, and production teams to ensure the technical accuracy and quality of the garments. Your expertise will span across various garment types and production techniques, making you an integral part of our creative and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Development: Translate design concepts into technical specifications and production-ready documentation. Develop and manage tech packs, including measurements, construction details, and fabric specifications.
- Sample Review and Fitting: Oversee the fitting process, providing technical advice to refine fit, construction, and garment performance. Conduct thorough reviews of samples, suggesting improvements and ensuring alignment with design intent.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure garments meet our stringent standards. Collaborate with manufacturers and suppliers to uphold quality throughout the production process.
- Fabric and Trim Evaluation: Evaluate and select appropriate fabrics and trims in collaboration with the design team. Test and approve material samples for durability, performance, and aesthetic quality.
- Production Support: Provide technical guidance during the production stage to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery. Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to support efficient operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all technical specifications and quality control activities. Prepare reports on garment performance, identifying patterns and suggesting areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Design, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Garment Technologist.
- Proficient in using garment CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fit analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Enthusiasm for luxury fashion and strong awareness of industry trends and innovations.
