We are working with a leading global investment bank seeking an experienced Core Java Tech Lead to join a high-performing Rates eTrading technology team. This is a senior, hands-on role focused on building and enhancing low-latency trading systems that support front office rates trading desks.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of high-performance Java-based eTrading platforms within Rates
- Work closely with traders, quants, and structurers to deliver scalable, low-latency solutions
- Own technical direction and architecture across key components of the trading stack
- Drive best practices across development, testing, and deployment
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers, contributing to a strong engineering culture
- Participate in system design discussions with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability
- Proven experience in a Tech Lead or senior engineering role
- Solid background in Rates trading systems (government bonds, swaps, IRS, etc.), may consider exceptional candidates from other asset classes
- Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and JVM performance tuning
- Experience working directly with front office stakeholders
- Knowledge of eTrading platforms and workflows
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, Solace, or similar
- Familiarity with pricing and risk concepts within Rates
- Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
