This role will work within the Digital and Data Directorate within the Delivery and Service Management Team. You will lead multi-disciplinary and matrix managed teams across Tech Services specifically in Infrastructure and User Services. You will support your team by providing guidance and direction as they deliver their projects, such as Tech Refresh and application roll outs to provide delivery leadership to drive real engagement, trust and respect. The key to successful delivery will be ensuring in-scope business requirements are delivered within time constraints. This is a critical role in the context of building sustainable capability to operate, support and improve technology services.

Some examples of projects or initiatives you could lead or be involved in include the Body Camera initiative, Automation Opportunities Project, the retender and implementation of major contracts such as our Technical Support Services Contract (TSS) and the roll out of tech across the entire DVSA estate.

Person specification

Required experience: To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Experience working in a large or medium complexity project team or leading small to medium projects with small to medium complexity.
  • Strong evidence of planning, budget management, resource management, risk and issues management, governance and reporting in a project environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to influence external partners, senior stakeholders and customers to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
  • Commercial awareness including managing and monitoring of project costs and budgets to deliver value for money.
  • Demonstrable leadership and experience in building and developing high performing teams.
  • Has or is willing to work towards: APMQ/PRINCE2/AgilePM or similar and ITIL v4 foundation.
