Reporting To Sales Director & Technical Director

Location: Remote / Field-Based (UK-wide travel required)

Overview: DVS is seeking a highly knowledgeable and commercially driven Access Control Vendor Manager to lead the development and growth of the access control category across the business. This role operates across all sales regions, supporting both internal and external sales teams to drive revenue growth, improve technical capability, and position DVS as a leading access control distributor in the UK. The successful candidate will act as the subject matter expert for access control, working collaboratively with sales teams, suppliers, and customers to generate demand, convert opportunities, and build long-term category success.

Key Objectives:

  • Deliver a defined revenue target across all DVS regions
  • Increase access control penetration within the existing customer base
  • Improve sales team confidence, capability, and conversion rates
  • Establish DVS as a go‑to distributor for access control solutions
  • Support the successful launch and growth of new access control vendors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver a national revenue target for access control
  • Identify and develop opportunities across all regions
  • Support and influence deals from initial enquiry through to close
  • Drive pipeline generation through proactive engagement

Marketing Alignment:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure alignment on:
  • Access control campaigns
  • Product promotions
  • Vendor activity and messaging
  • Support the creation and execution of targeted marketing initiatives to drive demand
  • Stock & Product Management:

    • Collaborate with purchasing and stock teams to:
    • Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained
    • Support forecasting based on pipeline and demand
    • Highlight risks and opportunities relating to stock holding
  • Work closely with external and internal sales teams to support live opportunities
  • Provide technical and commercial guidance on access control solutions
  • Deliver training sessions, toolbox talks, and ongoing coaching
  • Improve conversion rates through structured support
  • Attend customer meetings alongside external sales representatives
  • Build relationships with key installers, integrators, and enterprise customers
  • Act as the access control specialist in high‑value or complex opportunities
  • Work closely with access control manufacturers to:
    • Align on strategy and targets
    • Deliver joint customer activity
  • Maintain strong knowledge of product ranges
  • Internal Collaboration:

    • Work with:
    • Internal Sales (handling inbound enquiries)
    • New Business Executive (supporting prospecting activity)
    • Marketing (campaigns, promotions, events)
  • Ensure access control is consistently promoted across all touchpoints
  • Key Skills & Experience:

    • Strong experience in access control systems and solutions
    • Proven ability to drive sales growth through influence (not ownership)
    • Experience working with installers, integrators, or distribution channels
    • Strong commercial awareness and deal support capability
    • Ability to train, coach, and develop sales teams
    • Capability to deliver training courses to customers
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
