A leading international professional services organisation is seeking an experienced 3E Developer to join its established technology team on an initial 6 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the development, enhancement and support of critical finance and practice management systems, helping to drive operational efficiency, improve user experience and support strategic business objectives.
The Role
You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-grade solutions that improve staff productivity and business performance. Working closely with Business Analysts, Finance teams and other stakeholders, you will deliver robust, scalable and maintainable solutions within a complex business environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing technical solutions based on functional specifications and business requirements.
- Developing high-quality, reusable and maintainable code in line with development standards and best practices.
- Creating scalable solutions using VB.Net, SQL and XML technologies.
- Performing thorough testing to ensure software is delivered error-free and ready for user acceptance.
- Producing technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborating with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to understand and deliver project requirements.
- Leading and contributing to technical discussions with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout the design and development lifecycle.
- Participating in code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality control processes.
- Providing technical support and knowledge sharing across the wider technology and finance teams.
- Working closely with third-party vendors to implement, support and troubleshoot system enhancements and issues.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience developing and customising solutions within Elite 3E.
- Strong experience using the Elite 3E IDE.
- Excellent knowledge of the .NET Framework, particularly VB.Net.
- Strong experience with SQL and XML-related technologies, including XSLT and XPath.
- Proven ability to develop performant, scalable and robust enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within the legal or financial services sectors.
- Experience supporting enterprise finance or practice management systems.
- Exposure to working with third-party software vendors and external technical partners.
