A Rare Opportunity with a Global Insurance Powerhouse. This is not your average operational resilience role. This is a chance to join one of the most respected and financially strong insurance groups in the world. A business with over 140 years of history, operations across 50+ countries, and an ambitious, well-funded transformation strategy designed to reshape its position in the global specialty insurance market.

With a portfolio spanning property, casualty, life, specialty, cyber, marine, energy and financial lines, this organisation operates at the very highest level of the global insurance industry. The London operation sits at the heart of the Lloyd's and company market and is currently executing one of the most significant growth and modernisation programmes in its history, integrating business units, transforming technology and underwriting platforms, and expanding specialty capabilities globally.

If you are looking for a role with genuine scope, genuine seniority and a platform to make a meaningful impact within an organisation of true global standing, this is it.

The Role: As Operational Resilience Lead, you will be a pivotal member of the Operations Management team, taking ownership of the Operational Resilience and Third Party Vendor Management functions within the 1st Line of Defence. This is a high-visibility, broad-reaching role that places you at the centre of governance, regulatory compliance and risk management for a complex, internationally active specialty insurer.

What You'll Own:

  • Full operational ownership of the incident reporting process in line with PRA SS1/26 and Lloyd's, FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks, including drafting incident summaries, root cause analyses, lessons learned and remediation plans.
  • Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and its alignment to the broader Operational Resilience framework, including annual reviews, self-assessments and plan updates.
  • Impact analyses to identify critical business services, assess operational tolerances and map time-critical dependencies.
  • End-to-end third party vendor management, from onboarding and lifecycle management through to SLA monitoring, contractual resilience obligations and due diligence assessments.
  • Drafting and maintaining key policies and governance documentation including the Operational Resilience Policy, Business Continuity Plans, Wind Down Plans and Third Party Risk policies, in alignment with Munich Re Group frameworks.
  • Horizon scanning of regulatory developments across FCA, PRA and Lloyd's, conducting impact assessments and ensuring the business stays ahead of the curve.
  • Preparation of high-quality reports, regulatory submissions and presentations for senior management, board and committee audiences.

Why This Role, Why Now: The organisation is mid-way through one of the most exciting chapters in its history, executing a long-term growth strategy that includes new product launches, specialty underwriting expansion, major technology transformation and innovation in areas such as cyber risk, climate modelling and digital underwriting. Operational resilience is not a back-office function here; it is a strategic priority with board-level visibility and executive sponsorship. This is a role where your expertise will be valued, your voice will be heard, and your work will directly support the foundations of a global business built for the next decade.
