We are working with a leading attorneys’ firm based in London to recruit an Application Manager to lead the management and continuous improvement of the firm’s business applications portfolio. The role ensures applications are robust, well integrated and secure, while remaining closely aligned with the firm’s strategic and security objectives.
The Application Manager will work closely with Partners, fee earners and business support teams to identify, prioritise and co-design solutions that deliver measurable business value. This position balances strategic leadership, governance and innovation with hands-on oversight of operational support, system enhancements, releases and project delivery.
A key focus of the role is the development and implementation of a strong Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including a Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) aligned with OWASP ASVS.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, governance and continuous improvement of the firm’s application landscape, covering both in-house developed solutions and third-party software, to drive efficiency across the firm.
- Foster a collaborative approach to application design and enhancement, ensuring user feedback and business priorities inform the application roadmap.
- Establish and maintain robust, fit-for-purpose processes to manage workload and prioritisation across BAU support, releases and project delivery, using tools such as ManageEngine Projects.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Applications Team, promoting technical excellence, secure development practices and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure critical systems (including practice management, document management, finance, CRM and people-related systems) are effectively integrated to reduce data silos and improve data integrity.
- Oversee application governance, lifecycle management and secure development practices in line with OWASP ASVS and internal security standards.
- Provide strategic guidance on application architecture, integrations and data integrity, aligned with firm-wide enterprise architecture principles.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies, including AI, automation and data analytics, and assess their potential application within the firm.
