Role Description
The Class 2 Driver role at DVB HIRE is a full-time hybrid position based in Woodborough, with some work-from-home tasks such as scheduling, paperwork, and communication handled remotely. Day-to-day responsibilities include safely operating Class 2 trucks to deliver and collect plant and tools, conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle checks, and ensuring loads are secured and handled in line with safety regulations. The driver will liaise with the depot team to plan routes, meet delivery times, and support efficient fleet utilization. This role also involves interacting with customers on-site, providing professional handovers of equipment, and completing basic documentation and records accurately.
Qualifications
- Strong truck driving skills, including safe operation of Class 2 vehicles and adherence to road safety regulations.
- Valid CDL Class A or equivalent professional driving license and a clean driving record.
- Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and internal teams.
- Experience handling trucks in construction or plant hire environments, including loading and unloading equipment.
- Good knowledge of local routes and basic route planning; ability to use digital tools for navigation and job updates.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices related to plant and tool handling.
- Right to work in the UK; previous experience as a Class 2 or commercial driver is an advantage.
